Middle School Youth Group (MSYG)
Middle School Youth Group (MSYG) is open to youth in grades 6-8. MSYG is the social complement to our Middle School Religious Education classes. The emphasis is on fun, with social activities and social action projects that encourage bonding among participants. Guidance is provided by background-checked adult volunteers.
Meetings are held on Friday evenings once a month from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Some meetings are held onsite and some outside of UUC. Past activities have included bowling and laser tag, hiking, bonfires, and an Escape Room adventure. MSYG may also participate in social action projects.
Coming of Age
Coming of Age is a special program that pairs 8th grade youth with an adult mentor in the Congregation, to prepare for the transition from childhood to adulthood. This program emphasizes self-awareness and confidence-building, as well as service to our Congregation and to the community. It culminates in an affirmation ceremony and in the writing of personal credos.
Requires registration by September 1 and a commitment to attend all year.
