UUC’s Mental Health Justice Ministry, NAMI NRV and the National Bank of BBurg are sponsoring this FREE public showing of “I Am Maris”. Maris shows us how amazing we can be, not only in spite of, but because of our struggles. Mental illness is not a weakness, but a catalyst for building strength, spirit, and empathy. This film will resonate with anyone who has contended with anxiety, depression and/or an eating disorder. “I Am Maris” tells not only the story of the impact of mental illness and recovery on the survivor, but also the impact on her family, friends, and community. On a larger scale it will speak to all of us who try to improve our self-image and self-worth. A Mental Health Panel will answer questions after the movie.
