Member Bruce Turner and Joanne Wolfe will read from their new books — Left-Lane Driver (Bruce) and In the Hollow of God’s Hand: The Life and Times of Edward Z. Yoder (Joanne). Both books will be available for sale and signing, and $1 will be donated to UUC for each book sold.
Left-Lane Driver is a collection of amusing and poignant anecdotes gathered from Bruce’s 22-year commute between Blacksburg and Johnson City, TN. In the Hollow of God’s Hand is a biography of Joanne’s grandfather, Edward Z. Yoder, who was born into an Amish-Mennonite family in Ohio in 1881. It’s the story of one man’s faithfulness through unbelievable hardship, and his personal and spiritual triumph over nearly insurmountable adversity. Both readings are family-friendly: school-age children will enjoy them equally with adults.
