The UUC Memorial Garden is a sacred space where the lives of loved ones are memorialized forever. It is a living garden providing space for reflection and prayer as we remember those commemorated there. Loved ones may be memorialized in three different ways: inurnment of ashes via niche, scattering of ashes into the earth, or by installing a memorial paver.

NICHE

Cremated remains are placed in a vessel which is then stored in a niche in the columbarium. Each niche is marked with a cast bronze plate bearing the name and dates of birth and death of each inurned person. The ashes of one person may be inurned in a niche.

SCATTERING OF ASHES

Cremated remains are scattered to the earth. Those interred are commemorated with a paving stone with a custom inscription.

MEMORIAL STONE

A stone paver is ordered with your custom inscription and placed in the garden.
